BRAZILIAN PINK PEPPER

The Pink Peppercorn ( Schinus ) was founded as a product for trade in 1992 - it was at this time that it was discovered that in fact these trees grew wildly on the whole coastal region of Brazil as part of the brazilian native vegetation. The state of Espirito Santo, where we are located at, is the largest and first state to export the pink pepper throughout the world.

Pink Peppercorns have a sweet and mild taste, also very aromatic, not pungent like the regular ripe pepper fruits. Pink Peppercorns are named after its color and shape, not because of the flavor which is totally exotic and different from regular peppercorns, which have a red tone, but a much more intensive pungency.

Today, Pink Peppercorns are used in cuisines all around the world, and it has become real trendy in all fine food flavors and chocolate. It is also used for cosmetological, pharmacological, perfumery sources because of the Phytochemical Analysis of Brazilian peppertree that reveals that the plant contains tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, steroidal saponins, sterols, terpenes, gums, resins, and a large amount of essential oil. The essential oil present in the leaves, bark, and fruit is a rich source of chemicals (over 50 constituents identified thus far, including biologically active triterpenes and sesquiterpenes). Some of these chemicals scientists have not seen before, and many of the plant's documented biological activities are attributed to its essential oil. The fruit can contain up to 5% essential oil, and the leaves can contain up to 2% essential oil.

Nowadays, the IBAMA (Brazilian Environment Institution), which is the goverment's department that inspects and controls the Pink Peppercorns (schinus) harvest and only allows formal and legal companies to explore and to deal the product. All of this is to confirm that the pink pepper is totally natural and our company is already working with basically all the top quality product. We have ORGANIC PINK PEPPER CERTIFIED ECOCERT.

Our company is involved in projects on organic products. We are working with different producers, going through this process of certification, which IBD Institute, ECOCERT, JAS, BCS and others are taking care of it. All projects are taking seriously the fact that the organic atmosphere is where they live in. Enviromental concerns are exposed at all time and people work happilly in a safe environment having a decent way of living. Keeping their rural community healthy and benefiting consumers with top quality heathy products.

What we need is to incentivate more and more these projects, note only for our physical health , but also for the planet’s health. MouliOrganic's main concern is to promote healthy living, without hazard to the environment, incentivating producers to adopt and participate in bio-agriculture.

We are personally visiting producers, taking this philosophy uphand, and showing them that the organic matter goes beyond just commerce, but providing ecosystems, proposing decent and healthy conditions to all. These things have never been taken for granted before.
