This site has been designed as a reference library for amateur aromatherapists. It is one of the few non-commercial reference sites on the Web - you won't have to put up with dull and irrelevant advertising banners clogging up your precious bandwidth or a page filled with shopping trolleys and a box at the bottom of the screen for your VISA card number. I'm not trying to sell anything and I don't get backhanders from desperate suppliers! I add information to the site when I get time to do so and I am always on the look out for interesting contributions from fellow enthusiasts. For those wanting to exploit my fame ( oh well, you live in hope ), I have a popular links page.

How many blockbuster feature films are there about the aromatherapy and perfume business ? Well the answer is no longer 'none'. Why don't you watch 'Perfume : The Story of a Murderer', 2006, directed by Tom Tykwer and with support from Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman.? See IMDb. Available now on DVD, it beautifully captures a ( somewhat simplified ) process of steam distillation and enfleurage, with scenes of the perfume capital of the world, the medieval city of Grasse near Cannes in France. You may not like the creepily disturbing perv who goes round sniffing and murdering young women, but the shots of lavender fields in full bloom and the painting of scents in music and colours is a feast for the nose. A very unique film.

By the way, a big thank you to the 'professional' aromatherapist who wrote 'This is possibly one of the worst web sites I have been on, and believe me brother, I've been on a few. It had no valuable information on whatsoever. The main essential oils that I wished to know more about were still under construction. Get it sorted !' ( grammar and spelling corrected in the interests of clarity ). It makes it all worthwhile.
