Alternatively, perhaps you are starting off in aromatherapy and wish to purchase 20 bottles of oils - what do you choose ? This list could offer some guidance but remember it is biased towards me and I go for the more masculine scents ( being a man ) and I like it spicy ( like my curries ). No mention of rose oil here, I'm afraid. For carrier oil I would of course shin up a coconut tree and squeeze out the nut oil. Or I may go in search of Aloe Vera gel.
I love the tropical hardwood scents - exotic, sweet, spicy and warm.
Tree resins have some of the most complex and interesting aromas of all.
These mix beautifully with the woody scents. Sharp and tangy - a complete contrast.
Sensuous and deeply relaxing.
Something practical for my alternative first aid kit. Lavender for sunburn, tea tree for cuts and insect bites, citronella to keep the pesky insects at bay and peppermint for headaches and colds.
A couple of special exotic aromas as a treat.
